So I got off work, drove to a buddys, came back outside, and the engine wont start. it turns over. took off distributor cap, cleaned the connections, retried, no go. took off gas line, turned car on, gas sprayed out, so its getting gas. what should i check next? any suggestions are appreciated. thank you.

Re: engine wont start

If your sure your getting fuel, check to see if you are getting spark. Pull out one of the spark plug wires from the head and hold it up to a suitable ground, like the chassis and see if there is any spark. If there is none than you need to trace which part is defective in the distributor and go on from there.
