i just wanted to see if anyone els has ran into this problem.(98 ex coupe)
i cant keep any tred on my tires. i have gone through two sets in the past year!!! i am runnig on stock rimes and suspenstion (as far as i know). currently i have the kelly 85,000 mile tire and they are alomost shot after less than 10,000 miles. i know i am not driving bad enough to do it on purpose. could something be wrong with my suspention. does anyone have suggestions on a new brand of tires.

Re: tire problem
What is the wear pattern? Does the inside of you tires wear out first? Is it irregular wear through out? Did you align your wheels after new tire installation?

Re: tire problem
every thing on the car is stock.
the tires seem to wear first on the out side then the rest wears off. I go to Tire Dissocunters, so they should do every thing that needs to be done. they are under warrenty anyways so i will practiaclly get new ones for free, i am just tierd of the trouble. also another note i forgot to add, i dont offten go on the highway but when i go above 65 mph the stearing wheel starts to shake, but not to violent YET. eventually they will stop giving me the warrenty beacuse i cost them to many tires under warrenty.

Re: tire problem
Well, check out the following description. It gives you a good general description of various problems.
http://www.procarcare.com/includes/c...dtirewear.html Anyways, the best case senario is that you just do an alignment and everything gets fixed. You usually have to pay for alignment separately from the tire installation, so just because you bought new tires, that does not mean that they align the wheels for you. If you have worn bushings and stuff they should be able to tell you while aligning, because they usually get irratic values when they align. The worst case senario is that you have some bad suspension components, as in bent rod or something. Or it could be that you have a bent rim? Anyways, when you get new tires, first they should balance all 4 tires on wheels. Then it is good idea to get at least front wheel alignment done. 4 wheel alignment preferred though. They can usually visually inspect bushings and any other rubber components. |
