Re: compression? pistons or head?

I doubt that the new head will do much for the compression, but 10.5:1 is pretty high to run much boost. If you are serious about this, I would build the bottom end with some lower compression pistons and beefier rods.

Re: compression? pistons or head?

I would be suprised to see a +/- .5:1 difference unless you use a thicker/thinner headgasket.

Re: compression? pistons or head?

Compression is all in the piston shape and the cc's of the combustion chamber. I doubt that just bolting on the turbo head will lower your compression a whole lot but do it and run it till it breaks and the you will know

Re: compression? pistons or head?

HHMMMM This makes me wonder then.. do I need a turboed head?? I know the cams are different.. and I have the 91 gsx cams.. should i just buy a non turboed 1g head.. and put my cams on it.. is there any other diferances I would need to consider?
