IMRC actuator linkage needed

Does anyone out there have the part number(s) for the IMRC actuator linkage for a 3.8 L Windstar? The entire rod/linkage assembly has apparently fallen off of my vehicle, and the ford dealer seems clueless. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Re: IMRC actuator linkage needed

Thanks for the reply, 12Ounce. It's a 2000 LX Windstar. Evidently the plastic retainers broke and the IRMC actuator linkage fell off. All I have is the runners poking out the end of the manifold with no connection to the vacuum motor (actuator). Ford apparently doesn't offer the linkage as a separate replacement item, but is unclear as to whether the linkage comes with a replacement vacuum motor. If anyone has these parts laying around, I would be interested in purchasing them.

Re: IMRC actuator linkage needed

Given the part numbers in the above posts, perhaps you can now find the linkages at the dealership.

In the meantime, if you solidly "fix" the runners in the closed position ... letting the, now useless, electric actuator happily deceive itself ....the engine should be OK at anything less than 3000rpm.

Re: IMRC actuator linkage needed

Thanks for the help road_rascal. That link gives me the numbers for the retainers, which is good. I still haven't had any luck with the linkage that is missing.

Thanks again to you, 12Ounce, for your help. Which position would be "closed" for the runners?

Re: IMRC actuator linkage needed

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong ... but I think the runner is closed when the little crank arm rests on the set screw. It's probably different for the pneumatic controllers (1998 and earlier).

I have looked on my engine ( stopped) and you are right, the little crank arm
rest on the set screw. ( 2001 Windstar)

Re: IMRC actuator linkage needed

Thanks, everyone. It looks like I'm heading for the junk yards - evidently there are no part numbers for the IMRC linkage because it is considered part of the intake manifold which costs about half the gross domestic product of Cuba. Better check the plastic retainers on your linkage, folks, or you'll end up linkage-challenged like me!
