1992 power window inop

Got a 1992 with the drivers side power window that won't go down or up.
the motor works and the window moves easily when pushed down or pulled up manually with the hands? took the motor out, the teeth look good and electrically works fine.
Looking inside the teeth on the window look fine too. When put back together it feels like the teeth engage but with electrics the motor whines but with no teeth grinding or skipping just a motor sounding and no window movement.
Does the inside of the motor have teeth, maybe.?
Inside panel removal and motor removal was done with gouge by subscribers,
thanks, it was good info.
What up with the window?

My 91 xlt had the same issue. I had to replace all 4 window motors and its a pain.

went to a junk yard to buy a used power window motor, the junkyard dude took my power window motor, check to see if it ran, which it did, removed one screw took off the cover and told me to clean out the inside which was full of plastic chunks and oil and replace with three plastic pucks and some lithium base oil and whalaa it worked all for $10. it's obvious where the pucks go you have to sqweeze them in, there is a tight fit here.
so it turned out that the other passenger side window was acting up and did the same repair job and they both work. if feel like a auto god. good gouge on removing panel drilling extra hole and now the plastic pucks.
