exhaust questions for 3.8L 91 custom
my regal needs a new muffler. i was looking at the local shop, I found that a raptor muffler is only $20. I want to know if anyone put some cool muffler on their car, and did it sound cool and how much. also, my cat needs to be changed, is it hard to cut off and replace? I am going to do it myself. Let me know..
Thanks

You dont need a muffler, just put a straightpipe there

Re: exhaust questions for 3.8L 91 custom
Maybe a glass pack in place of the resonator (if its after the cat, i cant remember), and a fireball muffler? (by fireball muffler, i mean a straight through design). and maybe a high flow cat while your at it. You should have a decent sound going by then... I had a glasspak on my regal, and it did sound good after the cat, and i had a Fireball muffler on the end, and (its a prolly a double negative to have a glasspack and a fireball muffler) it did sound good.

Re: exhaust questions for 3.8L 91 custom
i have a 3.8L 94 regal, and i had a flowmaster 40 series installed with a 3 inch pipe... sounded mean as hell! i loved running out in winter and hearing that baby purrrrrr while it was warming up. i just ran straight pipe back from the cat and had the resonator chopped off... wanted duals but the fuel lines are too close for comfort for me... anyway.. hope that leads you in the right direction.

Re: exhaust questions for 3.8L 91 custom
sweet! I love flowmasters! I have the Delta Flows on my 454 in my truck! When you say 40 series, do u mean the original 40s or the delta flow? ( i know you dont mean the super 40s) but i want to know. I love the sound of the flowmaster(also, the cat on my car is off, would that be too loud?)

Re: exhaust questions for 3.8L 91 custom
it was the original 40 series... i decided against the delta flow because i wanted the aggressive sound. mine had a nice purr at an idle and wasn't really too "LOUD" unless i hit 3 grand or so... the best sound was between 2 and 3 grand... cruisin speed.. lol... i dont see it really being too much louder with out the cat... i would definitely recommend the flowmasters though... lets put it this way... i have had ppl ask if I have a motor swap in my regal because of the sound...

Re: exhaust questions for 3.8L 91 custom
sounds like a good idea. Looks to me that you really take care of your buick. I saw your signature. I would love to do that to my buick but other things need to be done first. But thanks, I will keep that Flowmaster fact in mind.
