Average timelife of factory struts on lower'd car.

For those who have lower'd your car while still having the factory struts, what was the length of time you had before the your factory struts wore out?

Re: Average timelife of factory struts on lower'd car.

I think most people change them. They won't last long at all if the car was dropped. You need the better struts anytime you lower. I would say about 7,000-10,000 miles MAX, depending on how low you drop it.

Re: Average timelife of factory struts on lower'd car.

I plan on doing a 2 inch drop. I just want to get rid of the ugly wheel gap. I plan on buying new struts in a couple months. I probably won't even drive 3000 miles before i get them.

You should be good then. Make sure you get a camber kit too.

Re: Average timelife of factory struts on lower'd car.

Why do it twice? Depending on how the stock struts have been worn and what they will be put through with 2" lower, I wouldnt expect more than 2-3 months from them. I would just do it right once and get it done with.

Re: Average timelife of factory struts on lower'd car.

Are you staying with those shitty stock wheels? That's gonna look retarded with a 2" drop.

IMO, get some decent rims first, then drop.

Re: Average timelife of factory struts on lower'd car.

With a 2" drop you will bottom out the stock struts, you need aftermarket struts with a longer piston. Your ride quality will take a shit too.
