Where to put my amp?

I have an 04 Extended cab and would like some suggestions on where I can put my amp. My amp is a Sony Xplode 800 watts (I think) and is about medium size.

I was thinking about mounting it on the back wall behind the backseat but I'm already having problems with raising the seat to get the speaker box in and I heard that I would need to take the seat out completely to get the amp in. Does anyone know if this is true?

There is too much stuff under the front seats to put it there so that isn't an option.

I had my professionally installed & right where the center of the rear seat toward the middle is where they put mine my box is under the rear seat you still can lift the seat good luck richram

you will have to remove the seat to mount the amp behind it, if there is no more room under the rear seat put it under one of the front seats, the shorter the power wire the better it works anyways

So your amp is on top of the backseat, in the middle? Is it in a box or something to protect it?

Mine's undeer my driver side seat. There's a TON of room under there.

That is an awsome setup you have Sportin83. I guess I'm going to have to take out the backseat to mount my amp on the back wall. I wish it could fit under the front seats.

I have my amp on my box. I built it myself and put an amp tray in the middle of it.

You can easily take out the back seat. You could also do a rather simple mod to make the back of the seat fold down as well. Would make it easier to get to the amp if u needed to.

how would you go about making the rear seat fold down, i was trying to firgure out a way to do that but never had a good idea to make the seat secure??

Theirs a few ways people did it, they basicly bodifies the hook on the back of the seat to make it shorter. If you have ever taken out your back seat you know what im talkin about. If you notice, when you lift the bottom of the seat, the back travels up with it, bit the hook is long enough so it dosent come out. What you do is cut down the hook a bit so that when you lift up the bottom a bit, the top will come out of the hook. Someone said they just lifted their rear seat about 1 1/2" and it did the same thing.

I would suggest you become a member over their...ALOT of good info and ideas.
