'95 Bronco tailgate window stuck

This window is stuck in the open position and won't respond to cabin switch or tailgate key - does this mean that the cabin switch is bad?

Re: '95 Bronco tailgate window stuck

It could possibly be the security switch in the tailgate. If the window is open, try openening and closing the tailgate a few times. I had the same problem, the securtiy switch turned on because someone pulled back on my tailgate causing the window not to go up or down. We had to slam the tailgate one good time to get it to work again. Hope this helps.

Re: '95 Bronco tailgate window stuck

Thanks for the suggestion re slamming that tailgate - I've done that several times to no avail. I plan to next check the fuse, check the cabin switch and finally the key access on the tailgate - any advice?

Re: '95 Bronco tailgate window stuck

Power is geting into the tailgate so its logical that either the motor is gone or there's a break in the wiring in the gate.

Re: '95 Bronco tailgate window stuck

Take the cover off of the tailgate on the inside. All of the wires run into the switch in the tailgate, (where you put your key), to the best of my knowledge. Check and see if power is getting to the motor. If power is getting to the motor and it's not working, then it might be the motor. It's kind of complicated but you can jumpstart it by unplugging the connection to the motor and and connect a jump box to the connection using copper wire. Make sure the ignition is on or it might not work. If that made no sense at all, which I hope it did, email me at [email protected] and I will try to explain it to you better. Hope that helps.
