Just when o thought i had the upper hand...... IVE BEEN OUTDONE BY A P10!!!
![]() Just when i thought that i had the only turbocharged Primera in the UK, along comes my cousins mate in his P10 complete with GTiR engine swap. And what a car it is too. I must say, ive had a drive in it tonite, and it doesnt half shift!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The conversion went in fairly straight forward, but he did have to use the standard P10 tranny as we know, aswell as use the P10 flywheel and clutch assembly. The down pipe was fabricated from a Bluebird Turbo front pipe. Hes even managed to get the aircon in too. All in all, one heck of a fast car that pulls like stink!!

Yeah, i know what you mean, i did go out to the local cruise yesterday, and do get a lot of attention, but my point to him was, i cant really trash my engine like he can with his, I consider mine to be rather fragile, as im scared of blowing the thing up, whereas his engine was designed to be turbo, and driven hard. Well at least i know what to do if i do blow it up. The thing is, he got a whole front end of a GTiR for £1500 from a company in London which imports them for parts. He just asked for the front half, no panels etc and got everything he neeeded, so ended up doing the engine swap cheaper than i did the conversion. But never mind. Hes going for a magazine feature now, so im gonna have to get a move on, if i wanna get one too.

Hey Kev i'm not sure about the vent i think i prefer yours and that guy should change his grill and maybe put twin headlights on it.I do like the engine though,i had the option of doing that myself but when Simon at Cosworth said dont bother with that i can get you loads of power out your engine, well you now the rest, then he died.Have you posted the pics on G20 mate,as i think the G20 members would be flabagasted mate.

Andrew, i cant upload the pics anywhere, and cant be arsed using them jpeg sites, so i cant link them on G20. Maybe you could sort something out.
The bonnet is a genuine GTiR cut smaller around the vents, then placed into a hole cut into his P10 bonnet. There was a few problems lining up the dips, you know, the two tram lines either side, but he got there.

At least you can say you still had the first.
Dont think the bonnet suits the car though with that GTR scoop

its just the standard 227 BHP which is more than mine to begin with, but i dont think his tranny or clutch can handle much more. Hes been lucky so far. He drives it pretty hard, as i did yesterday night!

Just doesn't seem fair does it?
Did he have the work done for him, or was it his own task? Now I need to find me another 1500 quid. Arse.

Both are very nice cars!
I must agree that the GTiR bonnet scoop doesnt suit the car totally, but each to their own! Ive just bought a p10 gt and must say its bloody brilliant. What sort of engine mods represent best value for money? Exhaust? Filter? Cams? Chip? Where can I go to get this stuff done? Not many places seem to offer p10 tuning. Cheers guys. |
