Seat Interchangeability for Squareback Caprice's

For the squarebacks, 77-90, there were a handful of front seats configurations, bench seat, split bench, etc.

Would there be any problem removing a split bench to put in a bench seat? I'm guessing the bolt patterns would be the same but I've been surprised before.

Curious if anyone has tried this. Might save me time figuring it out the hard way!

Thanks

Re: Seat Interchangeability for Squareback Caprice's

I have a 77 4dr and i'm in the process of swapping a set of recovered '93 9c1 buckets into it. The only snag that I've come across (going from a full bench to buckets) is that most of the full bench seat cars didn't have the need for the inner mounts (2 on each side near the base of the tunnel) and the factory didn't install them. You should be fine, you may just have to change the bolt location at the floor to fit the seat tracks that you have. I had to swap part of the driver's floor due to severe rot the pieces that I used were out of a 1992 caprice wreck, the pan is identical to the 77's, basically any year seat 77-96 should work fine just make sure you keep all of the bolts, sometimes they aren't the same.
