FPR leaking

I have a moderately strong fuel odor under the hood of my '97 Rodeo 3.2L SOHC V6. I traced the smell to a leak by the FPR. I'll take a picture tomorrow, but there is fuel below the FPR and on the metal line that the runs to the rubber fuel line. This is all right at the front of the engine. The clamp securing the rubber line to the metal line is secure. I've never had an FPR go bad. Is it possible mine is leaking? Is this how they fail? Thanks in advance. Does Ramblin' Fever have another problem in his future???

Re: FPR leaking

Hey, hey don't jinx me....So far, I haven't had any of the recent issues that you have experienced - I'd like to keep it that way !

In the last year, I've blown one radiator hose (right in front of the house, thank-goodness), broke my oil dipstick, had 2 O2's go out, and 1 waterpump - hopefully I'm done with issues for a while.

Can't really complain, actually. Oh, and the transmission pan gasket was replaced.

The FPR, what do those initials stand for - Fuel Pump ??

You're just trying to come up with ways to fix something arent you. Cant say I've ever heard of someone breaking their dipstick

I need to get some new 'battery condoms' for my rodeo. Put new cable clamps on and the stock one for the positive clamp doesnt fit the new ones. Going to end up shorting out my dipstick one of these days.

FPR is fuel pressure regulator.

Re: FPR leaking

Eh. Maybe it was the clamp. I checked it again tonight. No gas. Could be the fan was causing it to evaporate (I checked it at the gas station with the engine running). Just autorepairanoia.
