Nice!
There are very few older Hondas in New York, most of them have rusted away.

Hey man...I checked out the thread at 3geez.com and noticed you said it smokes a little at startup.

That is most likely the valve seals starting to wear out a little. I had an 85 Civic sedan with the 1488cc motor, and I had lotsa blue smoke at startup, but it was OK after it ran for a minute. The valve seals wear out, and when you shut off the motor the oil runs down the valves and drips onto the top of the piston..since it drips when the motor isn't running, it doesn't foul the plugs but makes a fair amount of smoke when you fire it up after an overnight sit. When the car is running, it seems like it is nothing more than a little blow-by since less oil drips when the valves are running up and down in the seals

You have to take the head off to replace them. I am right now rebuilding a ZC for my 91 Civic and replaced them along with everything else..They only cost about $4 each, and take a few minutes to pop off and on (with the right tool) but removing the head and valves, etc. is a lot of work - I would just keep driving it.

Hope this helps and you don't mind my $0.02. Good find - my other car before the 85 was a 78 Civic hatchie and I LOVED it.

DOHC ZC, I,H,E, urethane bushings and mount inserts, rock chipped hood, some rust, stock steelies, nice comfy Integra seats, and the A/C works! What else could you want from an 18 year old car with 241,000 miles? Working on getting the Si tranny in now

Wow.
I've never seen a Honda with that many miles, that pretty.
Congrats. I'm jealous.

PS-And it's so CLEAN! Did it come covered in chicken shit and you cleaned it up? How did it sell so cheaply?
