Red Check Engine Light 93Trooper

The red check engine light comes on from time to time on my 93 Trooper. Any ideas? Usually, I just add a quart of oil (about every 1200 miles) and it goes away. But more recently it has been coming on after about 10 - 15 minutes of driving.
