I am about to pick up a 1996 Cavalier 2.2L 4 door. It has 160,000 miles on it and looks good for year / miles. I am paying a whole $550.00 for it and it will be my now 5th cavalier ( 95 x 2, 96, 98, and now another 96 ).
The car has alot of new parts but sat since september. The car now will not start and throws the belt when it does. I figure its a tensioner and a new belt to fix the one problem and the starting i figure the battery is dead now and jumping it should work or maybe some starting fluid ? Let me know if anyone can help in this matter.

Re: Anyone wanna try and help with this problem
check make sure air condidioner is not froze up. This would also cause belt to slip and possibly throw the belt....Just had this happen yesterday to a friends car....
