no spark , checked power at coil ,only have cranking power but on both sides but not from wire

Please explain. There should be 12V on the + side of the coil. there should be a pulse on the - side of the coil. with the 12V and pulse, you will have spark, or your coil is bad or even you coil wire is shorted to ground (coild would get hot). There is a pickup coil in the distributor that will go bad, but that's just one of about 20 things I can think of that'll keep a 2.2/2.5 or 3.0 V6....from starting. ? Tom
