Fuel pump problems

I was driving down the inerstate the 14th and i was going 65 miles a hour and my car started slowing down and i noticed something was wrong so i pulled to the side and the car died. It wouldn't start again. It made the sound like it does when it is flooded. It was towed home and we were told the fuel pump went out cause the car wasn't getting any gas. We replaced the fuel pump and the fuel filter and tried to start the car and the same thing. What else should we do. The fuel pump is to make a hm noise when you turn the key over and nothing.

Re: Fuel pump problems

On the drivers side fron there is a little button. It is a little past the hood release latch. It is called the Fuel Override Switch, turn the keys to the on position, push the button then start it. May need to let the car turn over multiple times before it will get gas, but, depending on the engine, it should have a cold start injector. try that.

He means the fuel pump shut off switch, its not what he said it was.
