Wink PCM or CAI????

Just wondering what would be a better choice of the 2, on one hand the pcm will get rid of the 40mph lag and shift with better performance. but a downside is i need to use premium fuel. The cool air sound like a easy HP gain, but is a lil more exspensive.. but im going to order one of them this weekend, just dont know what has more bang for the buck, OH and one more thing, when the U-bend is deleted about how much hp is gained, and what could it damage if taken out?

Re: PCM or CAI????

if your goin to replace the pcm then u have to do soem other mods to if u want it to work well, for example put in a 3.25 pully and if u take out the u bend it will jsut mke your car breath better, and im guessing a 2-8 hp gain

Re: PCM or CAI????

Get the intake first. The PCM is good but wont add much horsepower, it does however, make the car drive a lot better (my favroite is the speed limiter removed). The PCM also works better with supporting mods, ie. intake, exhaust, ect. The U-bend delete will gain you about 5 Horsepower and 3 Torque with no other mods.

Re: PCM or CAI????

you can make yourself your own fender well intake(FWI) from items at lowes or home depot for less than the price of either the thrasher or slp. goto here
http://tacgp.clubgp.com/custom_mods/index.html
also along with mods, i'd do exhaust, exhaust manisfolds(ported) or headers, possibly plugs to name a few then get the pcm at zzp or w-body for 99 buckers
