Awesome deal. 4G637 1G to 2G Swap Question

Hey. I got a awesome deal on a 95 GTS 5spd but the engine was blown and killed the turbo with it. He has a complete 1G 4g63T engine so all Id have to do is do the swap. Where would I find a good deal on the brackets/parts for the swap? Also, he mentioned that only prob with the 1G engine was that he recommends boring out the cylinders to .020 because the pistons werent good. I might as well bore it out now then later but I was wondering what is the average price for the job without the pistons? I could get some .020 pistons for about $150 and can install them myself just need the cylinders bored. Thanks.

Re: Awesome deal. 4G637 1G to 2G Swap Question

First of all, its a 95 gst, not gts. Doing the 6 bolt swap (1g 4g63t into a 2g) is a very common swap. It will drop right into place without new brackets or parts. Do a search on this subject and you will find many, many posts about it.

EDIT: What year is the car the 1g motor is comming out of? It might not be a 6 bolt, but it will still fit perfectly.

Re: Awesome deal. 4G637 1G to 2G Swap Question

Ya sorry about that I meant GST, just woke up and posted it . Well anyways, the engine is a 90 4G63T 6 bolt engine but I heard that it needed brackets or some minor work to get it to install? Also, Im doing the swap I wanted to know how much it would cost to bore the engine.

Nope, should just drop right into place. Do the search and you will find many articles on this topic

That should help. To get the cylinders bored shouldn't be too much, my brother had his block bored, honed, hot-tanked and new freeze plugs, I think it was around $225. And that was at a place that builds race engines so you might be able to find it cheaper.
