Kia Sportage '96

Hello there! I would like to ask you about a Kia Sportage '96. A friend of mine has one and he is wondering whether to sell it or keep it. I myself think that the KIA is splendid! It has all extras for the model including leather
upholstery and some other cool things. The engine is 2.0 litres TDI(83 horse power i think) and the car run is the inbelieveable 68 000 kilomitres(1996!!)!! He is the first owner. In 1996 KIA MOTORS still don't have a representation in Bulgaria and the market here is low. So the car is ordered from a foreign coutry(probably South Korea; don't know!!). I advised him to keep it but I thought I'd rather ask someone more informed about KIA automobiles. The only thing I am concerned about is the fact that the car is getting morally old(almost 10 years!!). And as you know KIA MOTORS was not enjoying the prestige and fame it has today(at least in Bulgaria). So I would like to ask you about possible problems in future with the car. The KIA proved to be a good SUV so far but one never knows! Please give your opinions. Thank you very much!!

Re: Kia Sportage '96

it would be up to him ultamatly. but it would be hard to get parts unless they are bought from the internet. even then there will be a few that cannot be bought. and there is not very much in the way of a repair manuel that is written in english let alone even in Bulgarian. and at 70,000 it is reccomended for alot of maintence stuff like timing belt replacement.
