W.I.P. Viper Twin Turbo

Hiya guys,

after some time on the sideline I decided to post my new project on AF:

The Revell Dodge Viper with a total engine conversion to the Heffner Twin Turbo block

After some hours I sprayed the body and cleared it....

Recently I decalled the body & added taillights. After that cleared it again and I'm gonna polish&wax it today.... Pics of that will be online soon

Hit me with your comments,

El Exotico

Re: W.I.P. Viper Twin Turbo

Nice work so far. I'm not that much of a Viper fan, but that block is cool! How are you going to do the turbos?

As promised the pics of the completed body:

Up next will be the scratching of the engine block. This will take a lot of time but I hope it will be time well spend

Re: W.I.P. Viper Twin Turbo

Here's some more progress shots...

Just finished the engine parts. The engine will be wired+tuned to a Twin Turbo which I'm gonna have to scratchbuild

Also added some chrome accents to the body:

Last but not least I painted the chassis+exhauspipes:

Thx for watching,

Re: W.I.P. Viper Twin Turbo

Awesome! I've wanted to build either a Hennessey or Heffner Twin turbo snake, looks like I'll get to see one finished beofrehand. Mmm, black, nice choice, sinister. Engine looks good too.

Where are the turbos on this located? Low, down by the oil pan?

Re: W.I.P. Viper Twin Turbo

Aye...Why did you paint everything already? You'll probably have to modify the engine bay, I know the headers and intake will need to be modded. Hate to mess up all that paint.

Good luck with it! I look forward to seeing a TT Viper.

Re: W.I.P. Viper Twin Turbo

Thanks for all the kind comments, they inspire this built even more

First off I took the useable engine parts that came with the kit and started painting a bit too enthousiastic. I realised the engine had to be modded, but most of the mods will be scratched and glued. Drilling isn't part of my plans because I don't have such small drills....

The engine modification requires a lot of planning and test-setups so progress may lag a bit

Keep watching & reacting,

El Exotico

Re: W.I.P. Viper Twin Turbo

Well well.......

The moment I (and I hope some others) have been waiting for; the engine block has been completed. The loose wires have not been made yet since they need to be connected to the chassis.

Other than that I added fuel rails&some valve-cover wires. I used red wires because they match the valve covers

Once the chassis&interior tub have been completed the engine will be placed and hooked up

Till next time,

El Exotico

Exclamation Re: W.I.P. Viper Twin Turbo

Back with a vengeance

Got around to finally getting some work done on the Viper:

Here are the results
Spray-painted the softtop & convertible "roof"

Placed & hooked up the Twin Turbo

The red stripe on the tubes is too thick and the side tubes need some painting, but other than that.....

Hit me with your point of view
