1999 528i Oil Leak??

Hello everyone I have a 1999 528i with around 120,000 miles. Last week I noticed a couple of oil stains on my driveway. They appeared to be very small but still concerning. I crawled under there today and noticed a little drop forming right underneath the engine. Is this common for BMWs with that many miles? Also do you have any recomendations about what could be wrong. I don't know if its a cracked oil seal or what the problem could be. I plan on taking it to get looked at however I just wanted to get some input first. Whatever it is I need to get it fixed lol. Anyways I appreciate any inpu you may have!

Are the drops of oil coming of the oil pan screw? or dripping down from the filter at the top of the block? You can look in the filter housing to see if the gasgit is worn.

Re: 1999 528i Oil Leak??

Unless youve had these things replaced ide get these checked out if your concerned about it.

Valve cover gasket
Power steering lines, (the fluid can also be dark like oil)
oil pan gasket (Ive rarely seen it but its likely)
your rear main seal isnt likely eather but theres a very slim possibility.
Also your emissions lines could be old and cracked, causing the oil vapor from the valve cover to leak out.
transmission gasket, this is a 1 in 100 chanch but just to bring it to your attention that it can also leak.
I doubt its your oil filter o-ring since they are made of a very good rubber. Unless you hadent had your oil changed in many years this shouldnt be your problem.
