need to know about towing with 4.8 v8 in new truck

Thinking of buying a 06 sierra crew cab with 4.8 (no 5.3 avalible for the modle Im looking at) I whould like to know if someone on here is towing in the rang of 5,000 LBS. I whould like to know what you think of it and how it handes it. The dealer is telling me it will tow it but 4.8 and a 3.23 gear is telling me I going to have a hard time towing here.
What do you think????

I'm towing,1 race car 3,000 LBS + trailer
2 17' bass boat
3 6x12 landscaping trailer

Iam most conserned of the race car.

I have a friend with a 4.3 and i'd have to say it would be ify, I have to pull his boat out of the water with my 91 with a 5.7, yea his truck pulls the load but not well, his complaint is hills and braking, as well longevity would be a concern, especialy with regular towing, even with my 2500 HD I have had to beef up for the towing I do, trans, and an aftermarket cooler, custom radiator, shocks, etc, might be better to upgrade to a truck built for towing full time, rather than beat a small pony making it pull the load, it's bound to give up the ghost and this usualy happens at the worst time, like in the middle of the desert in the middle of the night, personaly I don't like breaking down, just being ABLE to do the job, and being built FOR the job should be a consideration, my opinion from my experience. best of luck on which ever truck you decied on.
