Mark vrs. Firebird

This was the first race in the Mark...I haven't driven it this fast until tonight...i was leaving subway and had to make a stop at the gas station. This guy that i knew from HS that i wasn't really on best terms with is there in his new Firebird...i wasn't sure if it was the Formula though because i couldn't see it written on the side where you would normally see it...but it had dual exhaust on it with the wide end tips...kind of reminds me of the z28 exhaust...but i leave before he does and get on the highway which is a straight 4 lane road for about 3 miles...no red lights...nothing. This guy keeps pacing behind me with his loud exhaust...but it wasn't a deep exhaust note like i've heard the v8s do. He then gets beside me and starts to pace me again trying to get me to run...i finally got tired of the shit click the over drive off and slammed the gas down...he falls back a little because i slammed the gas down quicker then he could...but i let off a lil' because my tranny is almost phucked in this car. So at about a 100 i let off completely with about a car on him when he comes flying by me flicking me off.
On a sidenote im not sure if this was an LS1 because if it had been he would have slaughtered me I'm sure...

sorry about the double post mods...computer=messing up

Re: Mark vrs. Firebird

i don't think it was even an LT1 because the car sounded like a pissed off 4cyl. but the exhaust is what got me.
because it had the twin exhaust on it like the pre-98 z28 on it...and if it was a trans am or a formula wouldn't it said it on the side of the car? because all it said was firebird

Re: Mark vrs. Firebird

Possible V6 with the dual exhaust "sport" option... or, just a V6 with aftermarket dual exhaust.

Re: Mark vrs. Firebird

nice kill!!

On a side story...
The first time I took the T/A out (about 1 1/2 weeks ago) with the new motor I got played with on the highway. I was just minding my own business keeping the RPM's jumping around a little to aid the break-in process.
Guy in a car exactly like yours (Mark8) tried to play. I couldn't believe it. Not only was I not willing to take my car over 4000-4500 RPM's...I sure wasn't going to watch the gas gauge drop to show this guy.
He kept 'toying' with me. We got a slightly open stretch of road...and I hear him go WOT. At this point...I have had enough. It had exhaust on it...sounded good actually.
Anyways...I took it to about 4500 RPM's in 3rd. Never used any other gear. Took him.

Re: Mark vrs. Firebird

The Mark is also a damn land yacht at over 4000 lbs...but it's not to bad to have 280hp out of the factory on it...besides i love big cars anyways so it matches me

Re: Mark vrs. Firebird
