Finished Pintera

Seen one of these lately. I built it for another boards contest. I put a 289 in it and some Hella wheels and a lot of putty.

Re: Finished Pintera

Nice work

I have the same kit, and thought about building for the same contest. But I got lazy-it would take a ton of work to make the model in the box look like the boxcover illustration. Therefore I know fully what you did to accomplish such an outstanding finish! The front/rear ends don't fit at all well w/o a lot of sanding/filling. I think I may completely re-engineer the front headlight bucket/hood line as it just doesn't look right in styrene. Then I think about the Pangra which is similar, but a bit better looking w/hidden headlights.

You did this one proud. I really like how you customized it further, the street racer theme works really well on it.

Re: Finished Pintera

I've got that kit too!! You did an EXCELENT job on it. Like ZoomZoomMX-5 said, the front and rear for the Pintera don't fit verry well at all. I've been wanting to build mine, but I wanted to modernize the design a little... rework the front a bit. for the most part I like the way the back is. Yours turned out really well! Great work!!

Re: Finished Pintera

Thanks guys, I'm a 1:1 bodyman for a living so the putty work wasn't too hard for me. It still took some work fitting everything. I did notice that the stock hood still fit after the nose was molded on if that helps with any mods you were thinking about. The 289 came from the Revell 26 Sedan Delivery

Came out nice Mark. (Gotta dig mine out now and see how bad the Duratite putty looks after twenty plus years...) Good job on the bodywork, but that's expected from you... - Mark

Re: Finished Pintera

Nice job, I have not seen one of these built before. I like the stance and the choice of wheels. I gotta ask though since I am racking my brain trying to remember what movie you sig quote is from "I like things that melt.
I dis-like things that don't melt." you gotta jog my memory on this one.

Re: Finished Pintera

Thanks for the kind words guys. I like building old and or oddball kits. My sig quote I think I heard it on Friends. I think it was Feebee's little brother.
