a good all around work out

how can one achieve a decent all round work out with limited supplies. granted at home here i have a bench, a pull up bar, free weights. but in a few months im going off to college. and i will not have all this good stuff. so your mission whether you chose to accept it ... or not. outline a good workout... either without or with (very little) use of free weights.

I am not much of an authority on anything, but i am sure that someone is going to ask what your goals are.
I am in college right now, and we have a decent weight room and cardio area to use. If your school doesnt have that though, running is always a good way to get some exercise. For muscle, push ups, sit ups, reverse push ups, neck rolls, and i am sure if you google search something like body weight exercises you will find more. Working against your body is one of the most effective ways to work out. Just my

I'm sure someone else can explain this better but here i go: the reverse sit up works your triceps. you are in a position kinda like sitting at a 90 degree angle, and you put your hands on a bench behind you and raise and lower yourself.

As i read what i wrote, i realize how much that explination sucks. try and google it.

^sorry, but if it's what i think it is, that exercise is pretty worthless unless you are a chick. Try dips instead.

Re: a good all around work out

What I have come to know as a reverse pushup is using something like a pull up bar about halfway up on a doorframe then you lay on your back, grab the bar, and pull yourself up into what looks like an upside down pushup.

Most schools will have a gym you can use either for free. The bad thing about that is at larger schools they are always packed from wall to wall. If you dont feel like dealing with that just bring the pullup bar and a couple of dumbbells with adjustable weights and you can do a ton of exercises. I have been unable to use the schools gym this semester because I never have any times where I can work out consistantly. So I have been doing bodyweight workouts at the apartment, that is pretty much all I have and while at first I was just hoping to maintain where I was, I have actually gained a good bit of muscle and have gotten a little more definition. One thing I was worried about was my chest, pushups are too easy. So I grabbed 3 chairs, one for each hand and one for my legs so I can go waaaaay down. I also take an old bookbag and filled it up with old books and strapped it on tight. I actually get a pretty good chest workout with that. You can use almost anything around you as something to workout with.
