97 ac compressor issues

Today my 4 runner stopped blowing cold air. I do not see or hear the compressor kicking on. I checked the R134 and it is fine. Is there a fuse for the ac? Out of the blue today it just stopped working.

Getting warm here in central florida. 1997 V6 2 wheel drive

Re: 97 ac compressor issues

Most likely you need freon. It is difficult to check the freon without the compressor running.

crazy thing is the battery had a tiny leak in it causing acid to drip down and onto the aluminum return lines. It eventually ate through the line causing a discharge of freon. $500.00 later it is fixed.
