tail lights(revisited)

ok. thats not quite the answer i was looking for. ok, i have a 99 passat with a broken tail light. and to replace it it would cost less to just buy some altezza lights. but it says the altezza lights are only for the jetta. and the passat wagon. now i know the wagon lights wont work because they don't even look the same. but on the 99 jetta, the tail lights look the exact same as the 99 passat. so can i put the jetta lights on my passat? they look the exact same!?!?!?!
