Re: Need help replacing front struts on 01 sunfire
jack car up,
brace axle, remove old struts, install new struts, there really is no detailed way to do it, just make sure you brace anything that is connected to the bottom end of the strut. or else it will fall down go boom . don't do it alone. have a portable phone nearby and when you start working dial 9-1... just kidding.block the rear tires so she don't roll over. ![]() there's a lot of work involved, because of the limited space. I might be able to lend a hand if you're nearby. Good Luck

So i wouldnt have to compress the springs or anything with that? I'm looking for info for a friend to save her like $500 going to a shop, and i've never replaced struts but i know people who can help if it's easy enough.

Re: Need help replacing front struts on 01 sunfire
when the car is jacked up,as long as you use the frame, the springs aren't under pressure.
if you can get struts and springs already together, you're set but if not, you'll need to assemble them before you put them on the car but because for the setup, the springs shouldn't need to be compressed, you might need to fight to get them into position I need to do mine soon (6-$700)
