'94 trouble, need suggestions

I have a 94 cav v6 3.1 FWD. I have been having problems lately (im not driving due to). I was driving down to the bank with no problems and when I got back out and into my car, I started off and noticed a small rubbing/grinding/scraping noise. It would only do it in drive and would get louder as I accelerated and did not go away when I put my brakes on. Either way, I replaced both the brake pads and rotors and noticed a suspension part (small bar that connects through stabilizer bar end and control arm hole) was missing and riding on my right halfshaft so this was replaced too. The problem persists still, and with the rotors and brake calipers off and the car off and in park, I can turn the axle in circles.

If it is the transmission then I'm afraid I cant afford to save up enough for college and a thousand-dollar transmission job by July on minimum wage. If any mechanics are in the Quad-Cities area any help is greatly appreciated. I don't know what I'm going to do if I cant get this fixed in time.

Re: '94 trouble, need suggestions

If your car still moves forward and reverse OK, it's not the transmission.

I'm not quite clear on your diagnosis, so I'll suggest a few things for you to try, I'm guessing you have a bad CV shaft.
With one tire on the ground, and the other tire off (jacked-up), can you rotate the tire with the car in park?
Try this with the opposite side.

If the jacked-up wheel spins while the other is planted on the ground, your CV shaft is broke-make sure the tranny is in Park. The shafts rebuilt should be less than $100.00 each, and any parts store will have them or can order them in a 2 day turn.
