I tried learning guitar, but it was too damn hard. So I wish you luck. I found that this is a pretty good site and they can probably answer any questions you have.

wow.....I've played guitar for years and years and years and have never given a rats ass to keys etc. of course I was very self taught.

I used to know, but I stopped being technical and started being creative. Just playing with chords and riffs til i had something that sounded cool. then I'd take it to the rest of the band.

Well, that depends. Do you want Major, Minor, Pentatonic, Phrygian?
GIVE ME A MODE MAN!!!!

Oh well, I'll just assume Major cause thats what 90% of all popular music is written in.

Technically Every key contains every note, it's just a matter of wether or not it natural, flat or sharp.

In E there are 4 #'s(Sharps). Using the old ryhme:
Father Charles Goes Down And Ends Battle. (FCGDAEB)

We find that in the key of E the notes; F, C, G, and D are sharpened. So therefore the key of E would be:

E, F#, G#, A, B, C#, D#, E.

Now to find the other keys just use the circle of fifths progression to find out how many sharps are in each key then just count off that many in the list above and those notes will be sharp.

Just incase you don't know what the circle of fifths is, I'll tell you how many sharps each key has, but you've got to figuire out what those sharps are yourself Remember, the only way to becoming a better musician, or anyhting for that matter, is to practice and keep learning.

A: 3 #'s
B: 5 #'s
C: 0 #'s
D: 2 #'s
E: 4 #'s
F: 6 #'s
G: 1 #.

If you need anymore help just ask
