18 inch wheels, width assistance please

The other day i saw a very nice 240. I had 18 inch wheels with a nice lip on them. The looked perfectly flush with the fenders. The rear tire was 275/35 and front was a 235/40 i velieve... i couldnt see the width size of a wheel, but if i was to guess, does 18x9.5 rear and 18x8 front sound about right for those size tires? and what offset would be the correct one , or where can i learn to convert the correct offset for my car?

thank you

hmmmm too bad RW was banned. hed be all over this one.
id guess if the fender was rolled, your size guess was about right. offset is best guess as to what they were, since you can get big lip w/ high offset(see latest ricer trend: big lip on FWD offset for civic rims).
and depending on how much the tire was stretched it could be a range of widths.

Re: 18 inch wheels, width assistance please

i had a good tire and wheel chart for 240s, lost it when my computer crashed

rear will be 275/35/18
front will be 245/40/18

wheels will be

18x9.5
18x8.5

and ill have to look into offsets and i will probably roll my fenders

Re: 18 inch wheels, width assistance please

you can fit some 18x10's in back if you want. like with +12 offset or so. and 18x9 +20 up front should be good the rears should give you about a 1/2 - 3/4 dollar worth of lip, if you get a rim with lip instead of sunk. I guess since R.W. left that leaves me with helping people with the offsets.

(just dont look at the widebody)

Re: 18 inch wheels, width assistance please

BTW...dont know if you know this...but i'll help ya alittle if you dont (im sure you do) 18x10's will only fit with a nice roll and probably like 245/40's (if your lucky 255/40's)

and dont forget about a dash of camber 1.5 - 2.5 would be good (but this is the recipe for uber flushness)

Re: 18 inch wheels, width assistance please

im thinking about going with these

it seems like they only make 18x8 and 18x9 with offset of +40 front and rear, does that sound right?

Re: 18 inch wheels, width assistance please

18x9 +12 front 18x10 +22 rear or something close to that would be great...or if your wanting something that handles then just do the 18x9.5 +12ish like SlideStar said.

Re: 18 inch wheels, width assistance please

hey heres alot more info on that sizing..

http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=98398

hopefully you have a membership with zilvia.net, becuase its required to view...but these are all 18x9.5 +12...most people are running 225/40's with just a roll. but you can fit a 235/40 if i were to guess. (have a picture of 235/40's on the third page of that website, looks damn good.
