Re: help please

Ok, well you need the flywheel for the manual tranny, flexplate is for an auto.

The rest of that question depends on how much power your making. If you make say 300rwhp the King Cobra clutch wont exactly please you. How much power are you wanting to make? Let us know that and we can help you more.

Also, not to be a prick but when are you going to make up your mind? You change something everyday. If your ever going to get done with this build you need to make up your mind and stick with it. Just a little bit of advice from the been there done that.

Re: help please

I still say KB pistons suck, but do what ya gotta do i guess. Stay with the 650dp. It will give you a better signal and will be easier to tune.

Re: help please

I didnt see anywhere that said 400hp. I just saw street - mild strip. To my that means maybe 300. I'd suggest a Spec Stage II clutch kit. I think that with the King Cobra clutch you will see alot of clutch slip when launching and at higher rpms. Sure the King Cobra kit is cheap, but do it right the first time and buy something that will last. As soon as you half ass something on a build like this you will be replacing stuff in no time.

Your talking about the Spec stage III. It is a grab 'n go clutch.
The Spec II is much more street friendly. Google it and read about it, see what you think.

If your going manual on the pump here: EDL-1715 This pump is about the closest I could find that would provide enough fuel. You always want to pump too much fuel, not too little. You use a fuel pressure regulator to regulate fuel flow to the carb, but you keep plenty of fuel ready if you need it at the same time.

If your going electricon the pump here: AEI-11203 This pump should do it for you. It has the pressure you will need and pumps enough fuel mass for your motor.

Stay away from the Holley pumps.

Now, DO NOT try to run either of those pumps without a fuel pressure regulator! Try this regulator AEI-13301 Its good stuff and wont let ya down. Just leave the boost/vacuum port open and run it. Just remember the port on the bottom of the regulator is for your return.

I would suggest calling the Aeromotive Tech line. Summit can give you that number if you cant find it online. Just tell them your combo and what you want to do with the car. They can either suggest you something or you can ask about the parts I have suggested. If for some reason you want to run that manual pump be sure and ask if their reg will work with it. I've never had to choose a high performance fuel system for a smaller motor & N/A. So I went off of what I know lol. If I where you though I'd buy the Aeromotive A1000 fuel pump and 13204 fuel pressure regulator and be done with it. But that pump is $300 and reg is $150.

Re: help please

Spec Stage 2's are awsome, i know they are quality...thats what most of the Escorts that are making 300+HP are using......

If their Escort versin holds that much I wouldnt be at all surprised if the Musstang version can take 600 with rather ease.

They also feel very nice when driving...unlike Centerforce.
