98 Ranger - Interior warning buzzer problems
The interior warning buzzer on my 98 Ranger is driving me crazy. As soon as I start my truck the warning buzzer will alarm five times (buzzes for 1 second, silent 1 second, buzzes for 1 sec., etc.). After it buzzes five times it has a 3-4 second interval where it does not buzz but then repeats that same process. It repeats this routine a total of 5 times (I don't know why five is the magic number but it is). Also, this entire process (buzz 5 times, silent for 3-4 seconds, buzzes 5 times, silent 3-4 secs., etc.) repeats every 30 minutes. I have sprayed the door latches with WD-40 and that did not help. I have disconnected the door switch (located on the bottom of the door latch) on the drivers door and that did not help. Any advice would be helpful.

Re: 98 Ranger - Interior warning buzzer problems
I wish someone would answer this question myself. My son has this same exact problem with his 98 Ranger and it drives me crazy every time I drive it. So far I have not found the alarm or I would just disconnect it, but I am afraid if I do it will mess something else up! Somebody help!!!!

Re: 98 Ranger - Interior warning buzzer problems
Possably the SRS, (air bag), is the idiot light burnt out in the dash for the SRS. I had an old Taurus wagon that had problems with the SRS and I took out the bulb which caused the buzzer to go off, can't remember the exact buzzing scenario but it was something similar....I think...Mike
