About a week ago, my bird started poppin' tail light fuses. I don't know why. I've had both lights out, can't find any signs of damaged wires. I noticed that the stock radio display will flicker brighter (it automatically dims with the tail lights on) just before the fuse blows. Is it in the radio? Unlikely. Maybe in the headlight switch? It's the tail light fuse that blows and takes out the dash lights, side marker lights, and tail lights. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: 92 Firebird tail light fuse
Then what? Keep going up in fuse size "till it burns out the wire? I don't think so. I've had the car running, lights on, taillights out, moving wires around , and nothing. But as soon as I go down the road, the fuse blows within a mile. I'll keep looking.

Re: 92 Firebird tail light fuse
I know you probably don't want to hear this, but there is a wire somewhere in line that is exposed or cut and shorting out. The only thing you can do is chase the wires down and fix whichever one it is. It could be in the radio I guess, if you want to find out, disconnect it from power and see if she keeps blowing fuses. At least that will eliminate the stereo if they keep popping. My money is on a wire somewhere shorting to ground...

Re: 92 Firebird tail light fuse
Sad but true. Thats what I'll be doing today. First thing, remove stock P.O.S. radio & take her for a ride. After that, I'd like to know what color wire I'm looking for. I'll need a wiring diagram. Hopefully, it won't get that far. We'll see.(P.O.S.- piece of sh*t)
