Injector seals leaking, fuel filter leak, gas tank leak on top or bottom, follow the fuel line/s from the tank forward and look for stains near the fuel lines or on the frame.

Why did you buy a $40K vehicle and not a $100 Factory Service Manual?

Re: Gas Leak

what you are experiencing has nothing to do with the gas tank. I had the same problem about 3 months ago. What has happened is that your gas line has sprung a small pin hole that has been caused by your rear passenger side fender rubbing against the line. There was actually a recall done on this up until the middle of last year. You will have to get a new gas line installed. If you go to your local salvage yard then you will save a lot of money. I didn't know any better and paid 170.00 for my repair.
Signs of this include: gas smell in car, your rear wheel may slip from time to time when you pull off (mostly at stop lights.)

The best way to find out for sure is to put your car on cement or blacktop and let it run. the leak will run down the line and drip right before it meets the tank.
