'99 Sierra 5.3 charging system light.
Hello to all:
My red charging system light came on and the gage indicated my altenator needed replaced. I did so with a 105 amp alternator (rebuilt). The red light would not go off. I replaced the serpentine belt. Red light still on. I had the battery tested (said replace battery) and I replaced it as well. The red light is still on. Had the charging system checked. The tester said it is OK. The 8th letter in my Vin is T. Any ideas as to why this light is on? I have noticed that my charging gage does not peak where it once did. Thank you. |

Check all of your connections to make sure that they are tight and not corroded. Wiggle the plug that goes in to the voltage regulator and see if there is a short.
