Re: cams

If it's idling bad it could have a boost leak (if it's turbo, put your car in your sig, year, model, etc) Could be a problem with the turbo (if you have one)

Re: cams

the car has no turbo so that cant be the problem.the header is cracked do u think this could cause the problem.but it only gets loud at 2,000 to 3,000.it only idle high when i first start the car then it goes back to normal.thanks

Re: cams

Every DSM I have ever seen idles at 2k right at start up and falls to 750-800 after that, you are fine there.

How you do you know the cams are getting loud? Are they clunking around? If they were, your car wouldnt run for more than a few seconds before it either shuts down or blows up.

You need to tell us what the sound is. If your manifold has a crack in it, why the hell would you think its anything else? Fix your manifold and see if it helps any.

Re: cams

no the cams arent clunking around they make a noise like if u ran a motor with no oil.but the car runs fine theres no lack of power or anything.and before u ask yes there is oil in my motor im not that stupid.the thing that doesnt make sense is its only betweem 2k to 3k it make the noise, after 3k it make no sound.thanks
