CMC 1/18 Mercedes Benz McLaren SLR (2003)

Hey guys, while I was in Ireland I couldn't help myself. I purchased a maroon SLR by CMC. Its beautiful. Anyone else have these. The best model I own as of right now!

interior note: real leather on the dash, center console, seats and real carpet of course


engine detail note: foil on the hood, all of the intricate wiring including the headlight wiring, detailed painting of the engine shrouds, cooling vent with the silver screws around it, and finally notice the fancy hood hinge that is just like the real car

THis is like the 2nd or 3rd time he was banned. i dunno...his last 20 or so posts didnt suggest anything negative when I searched under posts made by his profile..

I see, thanks guys! Frankly though I was rather surprised when I found out he got banned, because I don't think I ever read anything offensive or inappropriate from his postings (some mindless ones yes, but nothing really inappropriate). Well, let's just hope he could get back on this forum again later somehow.....

color? really liek the red one but silver is just so classic. blue was the only color they had when i bought it but i really like the deep metallic.

I don't know about the red nosliw, I think benzs look kinda odd in red. Anyway, here are some pics of my silver version...



my favourite part of the model! This probably has the BEST engine details of all 1/18 (aside from maybe bbr enzo)!!!


The headlights just look awesome!!! Very realistic and aggressive!

Overall I have to say this is definitely the best(and the most expensive) model I've got out of my whole collection. It just has so many details and looks more realistic than all of my other models.....BUT, not quite to the degree that it makes all others look like toys (however my maisto version does kinda look like a toy next to the cmc, but like I said that is a rather pointless comparison).

yeah i looked at my maisto and it looks so toylike. i think the blue is amazing. red is unique. definatly i don't like the black because it's so easy to get fingerprints on. (even though it getts prints all over the blue) but still very nice.
one of my fav features are the opening gas door.

^ agree agree, like I said I think the maisto does look like a toy next to cmc too. But you know it costs only $20 a piece and this one costs way more than that, so the maisto version is not a bad deal for that price. As for the colors, I also like the blue and black ones, but I had to find the best (pricewise) availabe on ebay, so silver was what I got instead.
