Question Identifying Keyless Remote Presence

I have a '93 Chevy K3500 crewcab. I was adding a remote starter/remote door locks and discovered through the wiring that I may already have keyless remotes. How can I be certain? And If I do how do I add remotes without paying my local dealer $$$. BTW the local is not about service, it's about the $$$$$. The old serve department was good but when ownership changed the whole service department left in short order. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Most modern cars all use a common loom between all the differnt models.
So its quite likely that while the wires for the keyless entry might be there, the solonoids to actuate the door locks, and the alarm box etc will not me.

When you get it installed all the dealer does is bolt in the right bits, and plug them into the right wires.

If you know enough about the wiring to have found the wires needed then all you need to do is buy the parts from the dealer and install them yourself.
Easy, and saves a lot on the labour charges.

Well, while I'm not new to wiring, model specifics aren't covered in the diagrams I have. I know that the wiring for door locks is different when the RKE is supposed to be present. The solenoids are wired differently for switches when the RKE is not there. I tied my remote start into the solenoid and did not have to add solenoids like I've done on a '92K1500 single cab. That's what triggered the question. Polarity actuation is 180 degrees different with switch onlyactuation. I'm looking for someone with the HELMS manual to fill in the gaps on my harness question. But thanks for the advice.
