fuel gauge

Fuel gauge on my 89 Aerostar shows either Full or Empty and it doesn't matter how much fuel is in the tank. Does anybody know where the problem might be?

Possibly the antislosh circuit mounted behind the instrument panel. Mine had the same problem. Found it by accident while the panel was out. I was replaceing the dash lamps and noticed the circuit board had a cold solder joint on it. Resoldered it and this fixed the problem.

Re: fuel gauge

The sending unit could be causing the problem.
