Smile 01 cavalier with a PO442, what is it?

I had the diagnostic ran on my car last night at a friends house because my check engine light came on. The test showed the code PO442 and i would like to know what the code means. Could someone please help me!

Evaporative Emmisions System leak detected(small leak).Clear the code make sure your putting your fuel cap on tight and see if it comes back.

if after doing that the code xomesback get the gas cap pressured check or just buy another one they r not expensive, also check the return hose that goes from the gas tank to the canister
