Gauges & heat control

I have a 2000 caravan and have lost the fuel, tach, temp, odometer gauges. Also , the outside temp and directional [nsew] in the over head console .
The heat seems to be uncontrollable as well . The heat radiates with the temperature selector all the way down . Any ideas on this before I have to go to the local dealership

Re: Gauges & heat control

disconnect the battery, then the BCM (body control module) and check it for loose connections. then, reconnect it and try it again.

Sounds like the BCM might be bad, but suspect the connections to it first.

Re: Gauges & heat control

Go under the hood in the fuse and relay center just above the battery and find the fuse labeled IOD . Pull that for a couple of minutes then reinsert . The BCM will sometimes get confused and this will reset it . Sometimes this happens as batteries get older or if terminals are dirty . Let us know how you make out . If that doesn't work have the dealer reflash the bcm .
