Bastard hornets

So I was doing this self guided field trip thing for geography and me and my mate ended up getting stung by the same fucking hornet. Him on both his feet and me in my neck.

Got some cream that helped for about 5 seconds (relief MY ASS).

Any ideas what else might help? What's worked for you? It feels like hot needles hopping around on my neck. Fun.

Re: Bastard hornets

Rub baking soda over the sting area, it might draw some of the crap out if it hasn't been too long. Other than that, benadryl will stop the swelling and some of the itching. Lucky you are not allergic to them, I have that problem with bees, wasps, yellowjackets, etc. except for hornets.

Re: Bastard hornets

get your friend to suck the poison out, if it doesn't work at least it'll be funny for everyone around.

i'd suggest benedryl, demoral works to get your mind off the pain, it doesn't actually remove it it just kinda makes you not care about it.

Re: Bastard hornets

tobacco

sounds wrong, but it works

rip open a STRONG nasty cigarette, chew on the tobacco till it's nice and wet, and stick it to the sting. Tape it down, then wait about an hour. It'll change the color of your skin too.

It should work, although I don't know how long it's been since you've been stung, and I've always done it immediately after a sting or bite.

Re: Bastard hornets

Yeah, that tobacco thing works.

Two years ago when all the hurricanes hit Florida, I was sitting in my house with all the doors and windows open because we had no power and I got stung by something on my arm...

Anyway, we had no running water or anything, so my aunt who smokes mentioned that and I did it. It works. Really well.

Re: Bastard hornets

Try putting some ammonia on it. I'm serious ammonia will immediatley remove any stinging sensation. You can find it in alot of household cleaning agents. When you buy those bee sting swabs thats all they are is ammonia in a tube. When I used to do roofing in high school I always kept a can of this stuff call A.P.C (all purpoose cleaner) it was esssentially a foaming ammoniated cleaner. It worked great on bee stings because you'd just spray a dab on the sting and it would foam and not run off the area. then in about 5 minutes you'd never now you were stung. However as with most of the other remedies mentioned I have no idea its usefulness so long after the sting, I've only tried it right after.
