Kenwood Deck Messed Up My Interior Lights..help!!!

I just recently put in a new Kenwood deck into my 2001 Honda Civic Coupe. Now my interior lights won't come on when I turn my lights on. I tried checking the fuse but none was blown. My gages won't light up anymore and the knobs on my heat/ac control won't light up either. What could be wrong?!? I had a Sony deck in there before and it worked just fine..could it be the Kenwood that is causing this problem?!?

Remove any leads for illumination or dimmer connections hooked up during install. Check the "small lamps" fuse in the under-hood box.

I would leave it unhooked, But I would also isolate the end of that lead with some tape and just let it hang free.

if i don't leave it connected to the harnest, my interor lights won't stay on. It seems as though it needs to be connected to something metal..does that sound right?!? Do i need to connect the dimmer wire to anything else?!?

Can't be sure what wires and all is involved.

If this allows the lights to work then it should be o.k. BUT! keep a close check on dash lights for a while to make sure everything is normal.

What wire are you talking about? Is it the red/black.

if your dimmer wire is touching any grounded metal...its going to short it out and will keep your interior lights from coming on or blow the fuse.
