1994 Chevrolet Caprice Classic LS V8 4.3L

ive had the car for about 7 months when i bought it they just put in a V8 4.3L engine with about 40.000. Since ive had ive replaced the fuel pump, water pump, spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor,3 fuel injectors and harmonic balancer. Thats all the things on the engine i replaced and it runs rough anytime i put it in gear its shakes like crazy and it wont go over 35mph and when i rev it up it revs up then it will stop like its not getting gas. While im driving i have to have my foot all the way down on the gas pedal for the car to even move and when it does move i hear a high pitch noise coming from the engine. when i get out the car i can smell transmission fluid when it has been running for awhile but i dont think its the transmission because all the gears shift fine. Does anyone know what could be wrong with my car? Before i buy all new fuel injectors becuz thats my only solution to what the problem could be.

Re: 1994 Chevrolet Caprice Classic LS V8 4.3L

also another thing while im driving sometimes when i try to accelerate the engine will start knocking until i take my foot off the gas and when i try to go up hills theres no power the engine will start knocking then cutoff. When im at a stoplight or stop sign i have to press all the way down on the pedal and it barely moves it takes about 30 sec to get to 25-30 mph and it revs up to 25-30mph before it shifts into second.
i dont know if this is related to the same problem but sometimes when i push the brake the needle for the fuel indicator will shoot all the way to full then when i take it off it will shoot back down to where it was at, but usually it says my car is on E no matter how gas i put in i dont know what thats about either.

Sounds like a converter problem. It might be burning up your tranny if it is the problem.

Yeah, that seems to be a pretty common mistake. People don't realize that you had the 4.3L 262-cid V-6 and the 4.3L 265-cid V-8. But then again, he probably doesn't remember (or know) the displacement of the original small block (265-cid V8).
