I have a 99 F-150 Pickup. I recently installed a fulley built longblock engine in place of the stock one, to support the lightning blower I have on it.
I noticed that there is oil getting in the coolant tank. Any Ideas? |

Re: Oil getting in coolant!
Head gasket.. Or it could be leaking transmission fluid into the radiator, if it's an automatic. Is the transmission fluid low?

Re: Oil getting in coolant!
Does the engine or radiator have a engine oil cooler?
Or does the blower run under oil pressure and coolant cooled? Also watch the engine oil for coolant it could start leaking coolant into the engine oil to. MT

If you have someone that knows about them have it checked out. They may know how to pressure check it. And remember if it gets worse it could go the other way to. And put coolant in the oil which is not good on engines. Good Luck and take care of that engine. MT

Re: Oil getting in coolant!
If it's motor oil, could be head gasket. If tranny fluid, could be vacuum modulator.

Re: Oil getting in coolant!
If your oil filter housing has a couple of large water hoses attached to it, they are part of the oil cooling circuit and this wouldn't be the first one I heard that was leaking oil into the anti-freeze.

Re: Oil getting in coolant!
Does the engine have a warranty? I'd just let the builder worry about it if I were you.
