urethane prices!!!
so i started to install the rear discs on my civic when i found the first two bolts into the job were froze solid to bushing. trashed one and said abort till i can get some urethane replacements.
i cant recall what place i went to but to get all the bushings for the rear end was $265!!! are you effing kidding me!! is there a cheaper, comparable alternative? |

Re: urethane prices!!!
Easy...There's no way that should cost that much unless it's an entire bushing kit. I'm from Canada and I was quoted around $200 for a Suspension Techniques bushing kit...that's basically all the bushings front to rear in urethane. The price could have come down for all I know since that was a couple years ago. You live in a big city? Check Ebay or google some bushing kits, get some prices online and expect to pay a little more if you go to a shop since they have more overhead than an internet company...Shop around

Re: urethane prices!!!
Urethane busings from Energy Suspension are ~40 from them. Order them through an online catalog or something you can find them for 30 or so. The part number from energy suspension is:16.3111R

Re: urethane prices!!!
try these - I found them comparable, and purchased some items from each of them.
http://www.suspension.com/civic.htm http://www.energysuspensionparts.com/ Prothane sells a way more expensive rear bushing, but it includes all metal pieces..with Energy Suspension, you only get the urethane bushing and re-use the metal parts..

Re: urethane prices!!!
that must be what i was looking at then, the prothane. it was three different part numbers to cover the rear trailing arm, compensator arm, upper and lower control arms. and it was way too much damn money to me.
looks like energy suspension will be the way i go, thanks yall. |
