dome light

I have a 2005 and I hate the timer on cab lights. When you leave the door open (parked) the inside cab lights go off automatically after a set time (I think it's 5 minutes) I have to shut the rear door then the main door, reopen to get the lights to come back on. You are probally wondering why I want the lights to stay on. Because I come home after dark, and need time to pull all my gear and tools out of rear to put inside. The cargo light does same thing. Question is .. does anyone know how to overide that damm light?

Re: dome light

Not Handy, but, could you not just leave your key in the accessory position while you unload? I guess the door dinger would be going if you were on the Driver side then hey?

Good Question though....

Re: dome light

I don't mind the irratating ding,ding,ding....etc. frm leaving key in (actually I do mind, it drives me crazy) but if it will keep the light on, I will try it. Then tape the little chime speaker shut so I don't have to hear that awful hi pinched ding......etc (not as loud anyways)

Re: dome light

Just roll down the window and keep the keys in accessory position and shut the door. The window roll down is a fail safe. Just in case something goes wrongs and the truck locks. You still can get your keys out. Only problem is raining days.

any better solution i want to know.
