staying grounded :)

I just have to say thanks to all the people who post on thsi board for staying grounded when it comes to mods. Too many times i found other message boards/IRC chat channels/etc. where the only attitude is "if its not b16 then you are wasting your time stupid." Just a thought...:smoker2:

because they don't want to admitt they spent too much. they want to stand strong behind that great engine.

now hold up...i bet 15 people will read and not understand that. i am not saying the b16 is crap. however, i have seen the all mighty d series (both v-tec and non) walk all over a b16. the d series is cheaper and eaiser to work on than the b16. so when the occasional d series smokes a b16...well, you know.

as for this board...the difference is the people. we have been very lucky to have nice honda and non-honda owning members. the only thing the moderators have to worry about is keeping the threads in the correct forums

Same here man, Im gonna be a senior this year and I should have the money for the B16 by Jan 2003. I will also have enough money to get my body kit put on, my car painted Dark Metallic Black, and my windows tinted by September. But this is mainly due to the fact that this whole summer I've been workin like 40 hr weeks at K-Mart (making 8/hr ). I don't have much of a life right now, but its worth it to be able to have my car be done up b4 my high school career is over. Of course, nothing against ppl who aren't doin B16, I was gonna do the ZC, but then my friends convinced me to pay the extra grand and get a B16 put in. Im just a sucker for peer pressure. :frog:

LMAO! there is a local "kid" here that as gonna do a b16...until he saw what my y8 could do. he just picked himself up a y8. after his car is done being painted (hopefully in a week) we'll drop that y8 in...followed shortly by 9psi (he says 12 :licker: kids these days....hehehe) of turbo . they y8 + turbo is going to cost exactly what he had priced getting all the b16 parts up here to OR.

that is when a d series will start beating the b series. again guys, don't e-mail/post to me freaking out because you thought i was talking down on the b16.

there is nothing wrong with the b16. i just think it's more exciting when the underdog single cam beats the expected dual cam.:smoka:

Hell Yeah!!!! I live in a city called Johnson County it is located in Kansas... And believe it or not we are up there in the Citys with the money... No where near California or Florida but we still got some cash... Cept fer the poor farmers and hillbilys outside the reeches of our inner circle But I am not a rich stuck up snob... I don't live in a big house and experience a nice day at the country club... But the kids around me who do flaunt mommy and daddys money it makes me sick.... I am going to laugh my ass off when they show up at the reunion with nothing because they thought they would always have their parents money and didn't make the right decisions. Anyway's this kid got a brand new ford lightning (SVT AKA supercharged cobra engine) something like 340hp 420torque... 13.8 1/4 (faster than the mustang) He had it for one month before he crashed it.. Now he is back to his old car a (tear) 2001 jeep cheroke sport with rims and a stiffened up suspension... Everyone looks at my car and calls it an old egg... Im gonna laugh when my "old egg" pulls up next to their brand new mustang, camaro, (maybe after a turbo camaros are fast even stock), eclipse (no offense I have driven one and they suck) , or other fancy expensive new car and smoke their ass... :smoka:

i grew up in CA...family had a $240,000 home. be yet my dad made me get a job at 16 before i was allow to get a car. he also made me pay my phone bill and buy my clothes. i'm glad he made me work for mine.

jer & i moved up to OR 7 yrs ago. worked hard and now we are 25 & 26 and have sweet cars, 3 bed 2 bath house, and a kid. when you work hard early you can kinda relax and start to enjoy it in your mid 20's.

just make sure you understand the the fine line between making money to enjoy...and being driven by money. ya dig?

Careful about talking like that about the company.. Never know what the boss reads... We just let a guy go for doing that about a customer on a message forum..

Anyway.. I feel old in here.. All these high schoolers moddin their cars when I should have had one a long time ago, instead, I bought a house.. Damn.. All you hourly guys make me jealous.. If I got paid hourly I would make about 2200 bucks a week. But hey, between the 900/mo house payments and 300/mo child support, I suppose I will eventually get my civ done...

(post whoring..)
